Mill Pond House, the steak-and-seafood specialist, sends out a first-class fixed-price menu on weekdays.

The $26.95 dinner is available Monday to Friday. On Friday, the check has to be settled by 7 p.m.

It's worth timing yourself to enjoy the excellent, boneless grilled sirloin, buttery and tender, paired with whipped potatoes and asparagus. Or the meaty rigatoni Bolognese.  Good starters: New England-style clam chowder, baked clams oreganata, Caesar salad. For a homey finale, try the rice pudding. And the apple crisp capped with vanilla ice cream is a treat, too.

The waterside restaurant also offers a $21.95 fixed-price lunch from Monday to Friday.
