Chadwicks in Rockville Centre, first bites

Chadwicks has lost an apostrophe and gained an identity.
Chadwicks American Chop House & Bar is downtown Rockville Centre's newest destination restaurant. It's situated opposite the railroad station and in the mainstream of Long Island dining.
To judge by the weekend crowds, Chadwicks already is well above the radar. Executive chef Art Gustafson, who now owns the restaurant, is doing a fine job keeping it there, too.
He prepares a generous, juicy, well-seasoned prime rib. Precede it with "tango tango shrimp," Gustafson's updating of the shrimp cocktail, with tempura-style shellfish, salsa and sweet chile sauce. The English trifle tastes more like a reshapened birthday cake than the boozy version, but it's good, too.
