Wantagh: Cheap food to celebrate snow

That’s why Snaps American Bistro in Wantagh is offering special deals tonight.

The one-night-only snow savings includes more than 10 small dishes served in bowls for $5. (The portions are a little larger than an appetizer size, says chef/owner Scott Bradley.)

Offerings include penne pasta and mushrooms served with a butternut squash and amaretto sauce, Parmesan mac & cheese with red wine-braised short ribs, potato gnocchi in vodka sauce, grilled hanger steak nestled on top of fried rice with pineapple soy mustard, lobster bisque, and Texas beef chili – spiced with cumin and cilantro, served with deep fried banana pepper rings.

A two-for-one drink special will apply to martinis, beer and wine tonight. And if you need something a bit more substantial to stick to your bones, choose from any appetizer, entrée and dessert tonight for $28.95.
