Farmingdale's own Marc Anthony Bynum pulled himself out of depression as he discovered culinary arts in his teens. Chef Marc Anthony Bynum, whose hometown Hush Bistro in Farmingdale is one of Newsday's Top 100 Restaurants for 2015, says "Everything is coming together."

The full list of Top 100 Restaurants will be revealed Tuesday on newsday.com.

Bynum is featured in a Newsday video about the chef's career path, his bold three-star restaurant, and all the difficulties encountered and overcome along the way. "It's not always easy." says Bynum. "You can't be afraid of failure."

Farmingdale, he says, "never rejected me ... I love this town."

"He's always been determined," adds his Mom.
