Chicken pot pie at Hicksville Sweet Shop

I just got a call from Eva Zouros: Wednesday, is chicken-pot-pie day at the Hicksville Sweet Shop.

Zouros, who owns the shop with her husband, chef Phillip Zouros, calls interested parties to alert them to the presence on the menu of such specials as chicken pot pie and sauerbraten with homemade dumplings.

Call to reserve your pot pie today. The restaurant is open until 9 p.m. and the pie, plus a side salad, costs $12.

Most of my visits to the Sweet Shop involve a chocolate malted. That’s what brought me there one evening a few weeks ago. The place was empty, except for one guy at the counter and, in a booth, none other than Theresa Caputo, the Long Island Medium, who was dining with a friend.

Has Caputo received word from the other side about the pot pie?
