Coming soon to warm you up after a month of nor’easters: baseball’s opening day, leading off with the new lineup of food choices at Citi Field on March 29.

The Mets’ culinary play is sparked this season with chicken and waffles, spicy chicken sandwiches, raclette cheese-covered bratwurst, doughnuts, waffle cones filled with colorful ice creams, as well as pizzas from chef Michael White’s Nicoletta and burgers from purveyor Pat LaFrieda.

Food is part of the “whole experience” when fans arrive to see the game, said Patrick Schaeffer, senior executive chef overseeing food operations.

This season, that will take in the Baked Cheese Haus’ foot-long “Alpine brat,” with melted raclette scraped onto the sausage, which is served in an artisanal baguette — a taste of Wisconsin that should be extra popular when the Milwaukee Brewers are in town in April.

From Lil’ Sweet Chick, the new choices include a fried chicken sandwich with heirloom tomato and herb mayonnaise; a Nashville hot chicken sandwich fueled by a spice blend and bread-and-butter pickles; and the company’s heralded “chicken n’ waffles.”

The Chomp Donut Co. enters the game with warm mini-doughnuts tossed in cinnamon sugar that are accompanied by chocolate, raspberry, and salted-caramel dips.

Pencil in Wowfulls for sliding in with Hong Kong-style egg waffles fashioned into a cone and packed with flavors such as strawberry cheesecake and French toast crunch.

First Data Club turns cleanup hitter with a Barolo wine-braised short rib and roasted pepper ragu on onion rolls. The toppings go from sharp New York State Cheddar to grilled onion and roasted pepper.

The Michael White pizzas, available to suite and special seating holders at Citi Field’s Delta Sky 360 Club, include one with tomato, mozzarella, Parmesan cheese and fresh basil; and a Calabrese pie spurred by thickly cut pepperoni, fennel sausage, mozzarella, red onion and tomato.

Fans once again will be standing in line for a Shake Shack bacon cheeseburger; the beer-braised po’boy of pulled chicken from Blue Smoke; “South Bay lobster tacos” and loaded lobster fries from Catch of the Day; Bash Burgers from Josh Capon; cookies from Christina Tosi’s Milk Bar; and jalapeno-ranch seasoned popcorn from Momofuku founder David Chang’s Fuku.

Daruma of Tokyo will be preparing sushi; Two Boots, pizza, led by “The Queen of Queens” white pie; and Rao’s, a steak pizzaiola hero sandwich

About 40 beers will be available at Citi Field, including Oyster Bay Honey Ale, Blue Point Toasted Lager, Brooklyn Summer Ale and Coney Island Merman IPA.

And at the Promenade Level, behind home plate, is the Jim Beam Highball Club, with a cocktail machine for the extra-carbonated, light whiskey drink.
