The Spartan Diner, a longtime fixture on the corner of Route 110 and Conklin Street in Farmingdale, has turned off its grills and griddles and closed its doors.
The place, like so many Greek-American diners on Long Island, had an expansive menu that covered everything from spinach and feta omelets to burgers to steaks and souvlaki.
