Serata South in Long Beach has closed. The restaurant, which occupied the former Matteo’s site, offered an Italian menu as well as a late-night dancing scene.

The place opened in 2012 as an offshoot of Serata in Oyster Bay. That restaurant, which closed earlier, has since been replaced by J. Michaels Tuscan Steakhouse.

Serata South had the same menu as the original Serata, which received a two-star rating from Newsday’s Peter Gianotti. He praised, among other dishes, the pasta Serata, “pappardelle in a luxe cream sauce, with Parmesan and pecorino cheeses, wrapped up with ribbons of prosciutto.”
