Huge shocker. Just days after receiving a two-star review on May 15, Istanbul Cafe II in St. James closed — permanently.

“It was too much to run two businesses,” said owner Sinan Yagci, adding that an Italian restaurant should be opening in the vacated space in the next couple of months.

You can still get the same Turkish food that was served at Istanbul Cafe II — plus brick oven-baked pide (Turkish pizza) — at the original Istanbul Cafe, at 2139 Middle Country Rd., Centereach, 631-738-6704.
