On Monday, the very last Roy Rogers on Long Island (located in Shirley) rode off into the sunset.

The classic roast beef sandwich (thinly sliced meat piled onto a soft bun, dabbed with barbecue or horseradish sauce) was surprisingly low in calories and (for well-done meat) surprisingly decent.
