Closed: Mangia Mangia, Patchogue
When Mangia Mangia opened, back in 2006, passersby were transfixed by the kaleidoscopic light show projected onto the sidewalk.
The images are now gone, as is the restaurant.
I can still recall owner Angelo Galeotafiore's pasta and meatballs, described in my review as "light-textured and deep-flavored, the sauce bright and tasting as though someone's nonna from Palermo had stirred the pot."
I'll miss this dish.
