'Country night' at Plattduetsche in Franklin Square
On Saturday night, the Plattduetsche Park Biergarten turns country-western with line dancing and Texas beef chili.
The German-continental restaurant will offer dishes such as chili, spareribs and hot dogs, plus slow-roasted pork shoulder, to go with the music of The Grand Central band. The event is outdoors. There's no cover charge.
Plattduetsche Park's popular beer garden is open every Friday in August from 6 p.m. Traditional German food and beer on tap are available. No cover charge then, either.
A new beer hall is expected to open at Plattduetsche Park next month.
