Here are three eateries that have first-class brews.

Sapsuckers in Huntington is devoted to "hops & grub." The sharp spot offers superior brews on tap and in the bottle, from Brooklyn to Belgium. Highlights also include pulled pork on brioche, grilled cheese, fish-and-chips made with Chatham cod, fried chicken and gumbo.

The Phoenix in Seaford rises with a broad selection of American and imported ales and beers, plus mead. Sample the cured meats, fine cheeses, roasted pork with broccoli rabe and provolone, savory bread pudding, chickpea fries, creamed corn with bacon, beef short rib sandwich, spicy peanut soup.

T.J. Finley's Public House in Bay Shore is a casual, beer-centric establishment with satisfying bar food. The brew choices are exceptional. To go with them: baked cheese-stuffed pretzel, "stout" chili, "bottle caps" or mini-cheeseburgers, smoky pulled pork, burgers, wraps, poutine -- fries with cheese and gravy.
