Da Vinci’s in Island Park, formerly a pizzeria with a connected restaurant, has had a major renovation, following damage from superstorm Sandy. Now, the restaurant, a separate entity from the pizzeria, has a contemporary new look and its own entrance.
Chef Jose Bonilla’s menu has been modernized with an eye toward healthier eating. New items include a Long Island Cobb salad ($11.50; additional $4.50 for chicken or shrimp), rigatoni with pan baked chicken meatballs ($17.50), chicken bruschetta ($19.50), grilled chicken with tomatoes and salad greens in a balsamic dressing and basa fresco ($20.50), the fish served with a plum tomato sauce and vegetables over angel hair.
Da Vinci’s Restaurant & Lounge is at 118 Long Beach Rd., Island Park, 516-889-3939
