Dao closed in Huntington -- for renovations or for keeps

A sign saying that the restaurant is closed for renovations greets those hoping to dine at Dao, an Asian-fusion restaurant in Huntington.
I inquired of some workmen in the parking lot and, due to a language barrier, could not get a clear answer as to whether the people at Dao were renovating or whether new owners were coming in.
Dao opened in 2009, receiving two stars from Newsday’s Peter Gianotti. He characterized its design as “serene to showy” and liked the “first class" nigirizushi and fanciful rolls.
The phone rings at the original number, but nobody answers.
