Day-of-the-Dead specials at Besito in Huntington, Roslyn
The two Besito Mexican restaurants will celebrate the Day of the Dead with specials on the plate and special effects, too. And they'll do it for two days.
The Huntington and Roslyn spots plan to offer ceviche de jaiba, or citrus-marinated jumbo lump crab with jalapenos, garnished with tortillas and plantain chips; and enchilada de res, soft corn tortillas packed with braised short rib in chipotle-cream salsa, with Chihuahua cheese and cilantro. The ceviche is $14; the tacos, $25.
They'll be available Nov. 1 and Nov. 2.
There also will be a Patron XO Cafe Incendio tasting. It's a hot chile-chocolate liqueur. Dia de los Muertos chocolates, from Casa de Chocolates, the Latin American producer, will be served.
You may notice the staff, which will sport sugar skull face painting. Day of the Dead altars will be set up, too, to honor the holiday. There will be keepsake cards.
