
East Meadow: A Taste of Long Island benefit

The Carltun in Eisenhower Park will be the site of “A Taste of Long Island 2010,” an annual benefit for the Nassau County Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The event, which takes place on Monday, Feb. 1 at 6:30 p.m., is sponsored by the wine importer Palm Bay International and its Cavit Collection wines.
Participants will get to try the wares of more than 40 local restaurants, caterers, bakeries and wine companies including Blond (Huntington), R.S. Jones (Merrick), The Brass Rail (Locust Valley), West East Bistro (Hicksville), Bernard’s Market & Café (Glen Head), Sweet Karma Desserts (East Meadow), Banfi Vineyards (Old Brookville) and Martha Clara Vineyards (Riverhead).
Tickets are $100 for general admission and $150 per person for reserved seating, available to the first 100 people responding. All proceeds will support the coalition’s services and programs. For more information, 516-572-0700.
