El Dorado Grille, a casual restaurant and bar in Port Jefferson Station, recently had a change in ownership. The place is commanded by Phil Krumpter, who was general manager at Kodiaks in Farmingdale. Chef Efrain Zavala, who was sous chef under El Dorado's previous ownership, now runs the kitchen.

From Krumpter's days at Kodiaks comes the ballpark sandwich: pastrami, swiss and Gulden’s spicy brown mustard on a pretzel roll ($12.99). New on the menu: guacamole ($7.99) and Cajun angels, or grilled jalapeño-stuffed bacon-wrapped shrimp ($11.99).

The place continues to offer slow-smoked barbecue items such as a pulled-pork sandwich ($13.99) and a half-rack of baby back ribs ($14.99). Krumpter said the bestselling item is a stuffed bacon cheeseburger on a pretzel roll ($12.99). Shortly, he said, the place will offer hand-cut fries.

El Dorado Grille is at 4837 Nesconset Hwy., Port Jefferson Station, 631-473-8525.
