El Paso Taco Grill, at 505 Conklin St. in Farmingdale, has closed. A “Tax Compliance Agents Levy” from the state of New York is posted to the front door.

El Paso’s tacos made our list of Long Island’s best; we were partial to the pastor (grilled pork) and lengua (tongue). While most tacos were made with locally produced corn tortillas, El Paso would also, upon request, use its own thick, handmade tortillas to produce tacos closer to sopes.

I enjoyed a few of those more than a year ago and had been meaning to go back ever since. Lesson learned: Seize the taco.
