Emporium opens in Patchogue: Music, bowling and food

The word “bowl” has two meanings at The Emporium in Patchogue, a new entertainment spot with bowling, music shows, a club scene, an outdoor beer garden — and a full-service restaurant. Since the restaurant is situated in a pit at the venue's center, you can watch the strikes and spares on one side of you, the musicians onstage on the other. Nobody promises it will be a quiet meal.
Chef Piers Stringer, who hails from England, formerly cooked at Shandon Court in East Islip. Stringer said he makes virtually everything — except for the previously frozen fries — in house. His repertoire, which goes beyond pub classics, includes fresh ravioli filled with lobster ($19.95), seared tuna ($15.50), crab, chive and ricotta fritters ($9.95), Margherita pizza ($9.50), fish and chips ($16.50) and White Marble Farm pork chop with lump crab mac and cheese ($19.95).
