Sridhar Rathinam, owner and executive chef of Southern Spice knows how to bring on the heat, "I challenge any Indian restaurant. I make the spiciest food, without killing the flavor of the food."

Blending most of the spices himself, Rathinam prides himself in creating authentic South Indian Chettinad cuisine in the New Hyde Park area.

Loaded with 22 different spices, the biryani dish is the king of the menu. Host Meredith Daniels takes a closer look at how this rice-based dinner turns heads in the dining room.
