A late-night party inside Eisenhower Park

Ordinarily, an attempt to hang out past midnight inside Eisenhower Park would suggest errant, if not deliberately illicit behavior -- but there are actually 10 legally-sanctioned late-night occasions scheduled to occur there before the summer of 2014 concludes -- each of which being an intended exercise in upscale nightlife.

Thursday, June 12, is the kickoff date for the “10 on the Park” party series -- a semiweekly event set to take place at The Carltun on 10 different Thursdays before Labor Day. Each night is to open with live music from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. (envisioned as a draw for a mature, over-30 crowd) -- which will then lead into a DJ-driven dance party (with fun-seekers aged from their mid-20’s-late 30's expected) from 10 p.m. until late -- potentially even as late as 4 a.m. (Bottle service will be available after 10 p.m.; food will be served all night.)

An open-air affair, guests can dance under the stars -- and, with The Carltun serving as the site, a unique situation unfolds: it’s a remote spot, yet still located within a heavily populated area. The result should make noise compliance a nonissue, plus Eisenhower Park is close to several major roads, is easy to reach and has lots of parking -- amenities not always associated with summer-only, outdoor happenings -- and furthermore, the Carltun “Clubhouse” room will be available as an indoor component, allowing the soiree to move inside should the weather turn.

Cover band The Mystic will play the opening evening, to be followed by DJ Dami. Most of the future acts are still to be announced, but freestyle favorites TKA are officially slated for July 3.
