It shouldn't be much of a challenge to find spots hosting a St. Patrick's Day party on Long Island – as the holiday is arguably the mostused bar promotion of all – but for the most part, these events follow a similar (and very popular) plan: drink specials, corned beef, cabbage and live entertainment.

This year, Katie’s of Smithtown is adding something extra to its St. Patrick's Day merrymaking, asking all planning to attend to dress in ancient Celtic attire – those who do will get in free.

But if you'd prefer a more “Game of Thrones” style, don't worry: The costume theme is broader than just what the guys and gals might have worn when St. Patrick was doing his earthly work. Guests wearing fantasy, medieval and Renaissance costumes will also get a pass on the cover charge.

It takes place on Saturday, March 15 at 8 p.m.; there will also be prizes and giveaways, as well as music from King Keltic. For more information, visit katiesofsmithtown.com and facebook.com/katiesofsmithtown.
