She rose to teenybop stardom as Disney's Lizzie McGuire, later played Olivia, the pop star-NYU student and Dan 'Lonely Boy' Humphrey's girlfriend on 'Gossip Girl' and made stops on 'Law & Order: SVU' and 'Ghost Whisperer' along the way. And althogh she's recently landed in the tabloids for marrying pro hockey player Mike Comrie (and selling pics of the day to OK!), now she's scored a new, and rather unlikely, gig -- novelist.

Duff joins celebrity authors Lauren Conrad and Nicole Richie with the release of "Elixir," a young adult novel that centers on photojournalist Clea Raymond. Simon & Schuster released the novel, the first in a series. Watch Duff discuss the process of writing the novel in a video, below.

Want to meet the star? You're in luck. Her book tour lands at 7 p.m. today at the Barnes & Noble in Carle Place. Find more on "Elixir" (and buy the book) on Amazon.com.
