Long Island iced tea recipes
ORIGINAL LONG ISLAND ICED TEA
This is Robert "Rosebud" Butt's original recipe. Butt created the recipe at the now-shuttered Oak Beach Inn on Long Island.
1 ounce vodka
1 ounce gin
1 ounce white rum
1 ounce white tequila
1 ounce triple sec
1/2 ounce sour mix
1 splash Coca-Cola
Lemon wedges for garnish
Mix the top six ingredients. Add Coca-Cola and ice cubes. Garnish with lemon wedge. Serve in a tall glass.
MR. BOSTON'S LONG ISLAND ICED TEA

3/4 ounce vodka
3/4 ounce tequila
3/4 ounce gin
3/4 ounce light rum
3/4 ounce triple sec
1/4 ounce superfine sugar or simple syrup
1/2 ounce lemon juice
Cola
Citrus wedges for garnish
Combine first seven ingredients and pour into an ice-filled highball glass. Add cola for color. Garnish with a citrus wedge.

Long Beach iced tea substitutes cranberry juice for cola.
Radioactive Long Island iced tea adds raspberry and melon liqueurs plus pineapple juice to the Butt recipe.
Long Island iced berry tea is equal parts blackberry brandy, amaretto and sloe gin; one-half part 151-proof rum, and pineapple juice.
Three Mile Island iced tea substitutes rye whiskey for rum.
