Although we still have a couple of months before Halloween, the Cinema Arts Centre in Huntington is looking to give you an early fright, as it dares you to spend the night – for come Saturday, Aug. 27, it’s time for the 7th Annual All Night Pay-To-Get-Out Horror Marathon.
Starting at 11 p.m. and running until dawn, the otherwise artsy movie house will shift gears and show five different horror films back-to-back, interspersed with vintage movie trailers – classic advertisements for scary flicks that many buffs consider to often be as fun (or sometimes better than) the movies being offered.
Tickets are $35 for the night, and those who manage to make it through the entire evening will receive a $10 refund as their reward, as well as bagels and coffee to greet the morning sun. Here’s the breakdown of what’s playing:
“An American Werewolf in London” (1981)
“Inside” (“À l'intérieur”) (2007)
“Freeway” (1996)
“The Legend of Hell House” (1973)
…and for the fifth feature, Cinema Arts is keeping it a surprise – but expect something in the "vein” of the four preceding tales of terror.
Purchase can be made at the door, or can be purchased online, by calling 800-838-3006 or online at CinemaArtsCentre.org.
