This North Fork winery 'sparkles'

The North Fork's Sparkling Pointe Winery (39750 County Road 48, Southold, 631-765-0200) was hopping over the Memorial Day weekend -- and sometimes literally. As a Paul McCartney look-alike sang and played Beatles music on piano at the new Southold winery's tasting room, couples danced on the veranda. Others sipped the winery's signature sparkling wine on lawn furniture as children tossed a baseball on the grass.
The event kicks off a summer series of "Party at the Pointe" events. Every Friday at 5 p.m., the tasting room will feature live music and drink specials until 7 p.m.
