Two 'Mob Wives' arrive on Saturday
Regardless of whether one is a devoted follower or totally unaware of the VH1 reality show “Mob Wives,” credit must be given to the six Staten Island ladies with connections to various people who have seen legal action due to their alleged involvement in the mob. Their lives have been able to turn their program — now celebrating two seasons — into enough of a ratings winner to guarantee a third set of shows, ready to roll January 2013.
However, if you fall into the “big fan” category and find that even HDTV doesn't provide a good enough look at the women, get ready as not one but two different “Wives” will be live on Long Island this coming Saturday (Sept. 29).
In Nassau County, those seeking audience with (or at least a good look at) a cast member of the show can go to Sugar Dining Den and Social Club (246 Voice Rd. Carle Place, 516-248-7600, sugarli.com) and catch Renee Graziano (reneegrazianoonline.com), who will be appearing while DJ Neil C spins various dance-worthy beats all night.
Meanwhile, Suffolk County club-goers can also find a “Mob” face locally as show co-star Drita D'Avanzo (drita.com) is scheduled to visit the recently reborn Wall Street (573 Nesconset Hwy, Hauppauge, 631-656-6550, wallstli.com) the same evening. The mixer of this affair will be DJ Loki, so expect an energetic session of club-friendly tracks from open to close.
Doors at Sugar should be opening after 9 p.m., while Wall Street kicks off at 10 p.m. In both cases be sure and dress to impress. Call ahead to find out if there will be a cover charge.
