When ground is broken for the new Long Beach boardwalk, this Saturday, April 27, Alan Adams, owner of Sugo Cafe in Long Beach, will be there at 11:30 a.m. with his new food truck, Beach Buns & Bites.
Among the items Adams will be selling is a “GSR” (Grandma’s secret recipe) burger ($6), an “Istanbun,” which is a chipotle hummus-stuffed pickle that’s wrapped in falafel, deep fried and served on a bun with sauerkraut and tahini ($6), a “no buns intended,” or pulled pork lettuce wrap ($6), and duck fat fries ($5).
The truck, which Adams said will be parked near the intersection of Riverside Avenue and Broadway, by the beach, will be part of a summerlong grouping of local restaurant trucks Adams is organizing in an effort he's calling the “Shoregasboard.” More about that once the project gets going, which should be Memorial Day weekend.
