Plattduetsche Park opens its Biergarten on Friday, June 4. The outdoor establishment will be open each Friday through mid-October. Festivities start at 6 p.m.
This year, you'll taste fried apple rings and whipped cream after the Biergarten's traditional fare. Favorites include franks, bratwurst, leberkase, cervelat, landjaeger and Bavarian-style pretzels, along with German potato salad. Dissenters can go for cheeseburgers, Buffalo-style chicken wings, and chicken fingers and fries. Prices are in the $3.50 to $8 range.
The Biergarten also specializes in, of course, beer. The choices include Hofbrau Munich Lager, Franziskaner Hefeweiss, Spaten Lager, Spaten Octoberfest, Warsteiner and Warsteiner Premium Dunkel. Just in case, there's Budweiser, Bud Light, Leinenkugel and the non-alcoholic Warsteiner Fresh.
Plattduetsche Park is at 1132 Hempstead Tpke.; 516-354-3131.
