Frederick's has long been the best spot for a business lunch in the vicinity of Route 110. But it's not exclusively a spot for suits.

What makes the place so popular is its consistency. While the peaks are never very high, the valleys aren't too deep, either. You can depend on Frederick's for a good meal, accommodating service on the side.

The theme is continental, well-played. Smoked trout with horseradish sauce, fat crab cakes and the terrine of duck are among the recommended appetizers. They also prepare a satisfying onion soup.

Notable main courses include the deftly prepared Dover sole meuniere and cold poached salmon, roast duckling and swordfish finished with a red pepper coulis.

For dessert, consider the cheesecake or the bread pudding. They both seal the deal.
