At Giacomo Jacks in Amityville, people can choose to dine indoors amidst Owner Jack LaGrassa's huge collection of nautical memorabilia or on the outdoor patio with views of the water. (July 16, 2009) Credit: Photo by Danielle Finkelstein

Giant fish and horseshoe crab sculptures from local artist hang from the ceiling of this lively, nautical-themed restaurant on one of Amityville's canals. The restaurant has live music from Thursday to Saturday, focusing on classic rock and blues. No cover. The 14 indoor tables fill up with diners enjoying the house specialty, mussels in black bean sauce, seafood bisque, or ribs braised and cooked over the grill and slathered in a wet sauce. The full bar has daily specials, but don't miss the signature Patty's Blutini.
