Burgers, plain and fancy, have come into their own on Long Island. Along with the ever-popular beef burgers, you'll see alternatives, like bison, lamb, turkey and veggie. To satisfy those craving a grilled patty tucked into a bun, growing numbers of dedicated burger spots have cropped up. They range from grab-and-go places to sit-down restaurants, where a meal can last an hour or more.
