The pleasure of going to a concert resonates all the more when preceded by something good to eat.
Here are three dining spots strategically situated within easy driving -- or even walking -- distance of music venues.
A two-minute walk to the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts, this popular barbecue spot features all the classics -- smoky ribs, pulled pork, brisket, house-smoked sausage. Sides, such as mac and cheese and baked beans, are worthy co-stars. The eatery hosts notable blues and rock bands.
Just a few steps away from the YMCA Boulton Center in Bay Shore is this minimalist Thai spot. Here, the chicken coconut soup is a standout, as are stir-fried coconut noodles with chicken and shrimp. And, of course, there's the classic pad thai.
The wood-burning oven at this molto Italiano spot turns out delectable, beautifully blistered pizzas. Chef-owner Antonio Caronna offers a skillfully done repertoire of pastas and entrees, too. The place is about a five-minute drive to LIU Tilles Center in Brookville.
