La Cuvee, the “wine bar & bistro” at the Greenporter Hotel, continues its program of internationally inspired wine dinners with “One Thousand and One Lebanese Nights,” a salute to the cuisine of Lebanon and the wines of Paumanok Vineyards whose owner, Charles Massoud, was born and raised in Lebanon.
Deborah R. Pittorino, chef-owner of La Cuvee, thought “it would be exciting to work with the richness of Lebanese cuisine, its unique geo-cultural culinary position between the foods of the Mediterranean and French colonial history, along with its linguistic and geographic connection to the Middle East.”
Her French-Lebanese-inspired menu:
Samboussek dumpling stuffed with feta cheese or
Fattoush salad with greens and herbs
2009 Festival Chardonnay
Lamb Kafta Roulade with tomato and pomegranate molasses or
Samke striped bass with spicy Tahini sauce
2006 Merlot
Lebanese rice pudding or
Apricot salad with Lebanese shortbread cookies
Vin rose
The cost is $35 per person. For more information call 631-477-0066. La Cuvee is at 326 Front St., Greenport.
