Hooters, the Atlanta-based "breastaurant-sports bar,'' is reopening Thursday in the Farmingdale location it occupied from 2010 to October 2012. The building has been remodeled inside and out for a “cleaner and brighter feel,” according to press materials.

The menu at Hooters is sports-bar standard. When Newsday's Joan Reminick reviewed the original Farmingdale location in 2010, she praised the "truly fine juicy cheeseburger as well as a respectable Philly cheesesteak involving onions, peppers, mushrooms, Provolone and thinly shaved beef. It's greasy in the best possible sense."

After a dispute with Hooters of America LLC, the operators of the Farmingdale Hooters changed its name to Bud’s Ale House. Four months later, in February 2013, Bud’s closed. The resurrected Hooters is operated by the Hooters of New England and upstate New York franchise.

Hooters is at 25 Smith St., Farmingdale, 631-414-7792.
