Horace & Sylvia's in Babylon: Cozy for winter

Horace & Sylvia's Publick House in Babylon is a good stop for post-season play. Holidays departed, Super Bowl ahead, a little time to relax in between.
The warm, easygoing eatery's chef, Brian Fugit, has had stints at The Patio in Westhampton Beach and the Snapper Inn in Oakdale. Here, he's preparing homey fare with some flair.
You'll find satisfying fried chicken with buttery biscuits; a refreshing salad starring endive, beets and spinach; and, for an Asian spin, seared tuna crisps with sliced ahi held atop crunchy wontons with a wasabi mayo-and-soy reduction.
It's an eclectic affair, with fair prices. At dinner, main dishes go from $16 to $27; appetizers and soups, $7 to $12. For lunch: soups, salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, none more than $8.75.
