Hot wings, cold beer and televised sports are the attractions at the newest branch of Hurricane Grill & Wings, recently opened in Hauppauge. The Florida-based chain, with Long Island locations in Port Jefferson Station, Syosset and Levittown, is also known for its laid-back tropical vibe.
The namesake wings, at $9.49 for 10 pieces, are available bone-in or as boneless breasts — which aren't really wings, when you think about it. They may be tossed with any of 32 different sauces, which can be mixed together in almost infinite combinations.
Past hits from the original Port Jefferson Station branch include the meltingly good chicken “Philly” sandwich ($8.99), the spicy ancho chili mahi-mahi sandwich $9.99) and a fine burger topped with applewood bacon and Cheddar ($9.99).
