Verace, the stylish two-star Italian eatery, plans to offer a first taste of autumn menu from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2.

The three-course, fixed-price menu is $25. It includes appetizer choices such as wild mushroom risotto with Parmesan cheese; butternut squash-and-goat cheese ravioli with sage-butter sauce and fennel, arugula salad with a "light truffle dressing," and spicy fried calamari.

Main dishes include shrimp sauteed with lemon and white wine served with linguine, saltimbocca made with chicken, penne with sausage and pumpkin, and marinated skirt steak with roasted Brussels sprouts and Parmesan polenta.

For dessert: ricotta cheesecake with creme anglaise and candied orange; and Frangelico-spiked semifreddo with hazelnut-chocolate sauce.

Verace is at 599 Main St., Islip; 631-277-3800.
