This charming all-American restaurant fits well into the pretty seaside community of Point Lookout. It's especially popular during the summer, when locals and visitors alike enjoy eating breakfast outdoors on the patio, under a canopy.
The signature apple pancakes are lacy and full of fruit; banana nut pancakes are fine, too. Try the excellent farmer's fritatta, an open omelet served in a skillet and made with ham, sausage, potato, tomato and American and jack cheeses.
Try the spicy corn frittata, a delectable Southwestern-style omelet-pancake involving eggs, corn, tomatoes, scallions, chopped jalapeño peppers, Pepperjack cheese and fresh cilantro.
At lunch, there are homestyle sandwiches, such as pulled pork and meat loaf, as well as burgers, panini, wraps and salads.
Dinner might begin with crab cakes or fried calamari. For a main course, there's chicken picatta, the catch of the day and a choice of pastas, such as linguine with clam sauce.
Conclude your meal with the signature house-made rice pudding or blueberry pie. And, of course, there's old fashioned apple pie. How could there not be?
