JW's Public House debuts in Glen Head as a triple "S," signaling seafood, steak and spirits. For you, it's a winning trifecta.
The bright, handsome spot is worth visiting for fine soups, too, especially the fish chowder and New England-style clam chowder. Also recommended: a grilled swordfish special, with toasted orzo and frisee salad finished with a ginger-spurred beurre blanc; and the juicy rib-eye steak.
There are several excellent brews on tap. Enjoy them at the bar, indoors, or at one of the outdoor tables.
Main courses are in the $19 to $33 range, with some specials higher. "Shareables" is a separate category to satisfy a group during all the decision making.
