If you’ve ever been curious about Haitian cuisine, you can find out what you’ve been missing at L’Antillaise Restaurant, which makes its home inside Franklin Caterers in Franklin Square.

On the menu, you’ll find such dishes as acra (malanga fritters), poulet frit maison (fried chicken) griot (fried pork cubes), queue de boeuf (oxtail) and lambi Creole (conch in Creole sauce).  Soupe joumu (pumpkin soup) is a specialty served on Sunday nights. Prices range from $12 for chicken to $20 for seafood dishes.

Almost every Thursday, from 7:30 to 10 p.m., the restaurant sets aside its regular menu and offers a seafood buffet for $25 a person. Included in that is an evening of live jazz.

L’Antillaise is open for dinner Wednesday from 3 to 10 p.m., Thursday (seafood buffet) from 7:30 to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. and Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m.; Sunday brunch is also served from 1 to 5 p.m. The restaurant is closed Monday and Tuesday.
