If you’ve been planning to make it out to La Fondita in Amagansett but somehow never got there, know that there are only nine more days until the place (whose seating is mostly outdoors) closes for the season.

Last year, La Fondita's food was available at Townline BBQ in Sagaponack; this year, however, it won't be.

Some dishes I'd drive out East for: soft corn tacos — filled with either the savory carne asada or the spicy chorizo sausage ($3 each). Or else the fried fish taco with chipotle mayonnaise and shredded cabbage ($3.75). And on a chilly day, the soul-warming pozole rojo ($4.25), a pork, hominy and chile soup-stew that’s a meal in itself.

La Fondita is at 74 Montauk Hwy., 631-267- 8800.
