La Gioconda, the long-standing Italian restaurant just across the street from the Great Neck LIRR station, has closed. Reviewing it in 2000, Joan Reminick wrote that it was a good source of “traditional Italian fare that's flavorsome, generously portioned and priced to please.”
"La Gioconda” is the Italian name for Leonardo's Mona Lisa.
