La Notte Ristorante is now part of Huntington history.

The Italian dining spot, which opened only a year ago, occupied a bi-level New Street building that hosted a string of Italian predecessors, among them Bel Posto, Mangiamo, Tello and Orlando’s.

The restaurant received two stars from Newsday’s Peter M. Gianotti, who quipped, “Pastaterians will recall so many Italian restaurants at this address that a marinara river must run through it.” The review went on to praise several of chef Joseph Cacace’s dishes, among them a Parmesan cheese sformato and  eggplant-wrapped halibut.
