Pasta at Mezzanote Credit: Handout
You don't have to be a member of the Lawrence Country Club to eat at its new restaurant, Mezzanote, which specializes in Italian dishes served family-style.
Mezzanote used to be up and running in Hewlett, in the former digs of Matteo’s.
Although the country club also has a public lunch venue on premises, Mezzanote is its only dinner spot. Some dishes on the menu: chicken scarpariello ($23.95), linguine with white clam sauce ($23.95), and penne ala vodka with prosciutto ($22.95). Portions serve 2 to 4 people. Narcisco Vargas is the chef.
The wine list ranges from $21 for a Sutter Home white zinfandel to $130 for a Bertani Amarone. House wine by the glass is $7.
Mezzanote, 101 Causeway, Lawrence, 516-374-0627, is open to the public.
