What hurricane?
Jake's Wayback Burgers is slated to open its latest Long Island branch on Saturday on West Beech Street in Long Beach.
The national group has 32 locations across the country. Here, there are Jake's in East Northport and Massapequa, with another planned for East Meadow.
The Long Beach eatery's hours: 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Jake's specializes in grilled-to-order burgers made with fresh beef. The menu also takes in vegetable burgers, turkey burgers, marinated grilled chicken sandwiches, housemade chips and milkshakes.
Asked about the possible problems getting started with Hurricane Irene as an early customer, a spokesman said in an email, "you bet it's opening."
