4 Long Island restaurants hosting 'Galentine's' Day events

Whether in a relationship or not, one thing everyone can agree on is how vital female friendships are. These Long Island eateries have decided to celebrate "Galentine’s Day" because Valentine's Day is a celebration of love in all its forms, not just romantic.
Dinner party at 317 Main St., Farmingdale
WHEN 6 p.m. Friday
The Farmingdale restaurant's Friday night soiree involves a $45 three-course prix-fixe dinner with an espresso martini or glass of wine. Start with Caesar salad, Buffalo chicken dip or calamari before moving on to mains like basil shrimp, chicken paillard or tortelloni. The dessert options are cheesecake or Nutella tiramisu. A deejay starts at 8 p.m. for those who want to dance. Advance ticket purchase suggested.

Bingo brunch at Lily Flanagan’s, Babylon
WHEN Noon-3 p.m. Saturday
The competitive sides may come at Lily’s Galentine’s boozy brunch. For $50, guests get brunch cocktails along with a buffet of classics including scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage as well as penne a la vodka, chicken Francese and Caesar salad. Admission includes a bingo card.

Tea party at Blacksmith’s Breads, Long Beach
WHEN 3:30- 5 p.m. Sunday
The Long Beach bakery will host a 90-minute tea party and workshop where you’ll create your own herbal blend to take home. Event organizer Jenna Valot said attendees will choose from herbal teas such as blue verbena, milk thistle, ashwagandha, peppermint and spearmint, while sampling croissants and pastries. Tickets via Eventbrite start at $44.52, with a discounted 2-for-1 deal.
