Long Island Restaurant Week means $24.95 fixed-price meals

The fifth annual Long Island Restaurant Week tucks in from Nov. 7-14. Three-course dinners at more than 200 eateries in Nassau and Suffolk will cost $24.95 during the Sunday-to-Sunday event.
These fixed-price meals will be available all night, except on Saturday, Nov. 13, when they'll go until 7 p.m. All menus haven't been finalized. Many of Long Island's top restaurants are participating. To reserve a table, go to longislandrestaurantweek.com. And do it fast.
So you could come up with a three- or-four star meal at a one-star price. Here are some recommendations where a $$$ meal can be had for a $.
Nassau
Bistro M

The plate: Michael Ginor's restaurant-week menu includes roast pumpkin soup, roast chicken with polenta and kale, duck breast and duck leg confit a l'orange, seared salmon with green-curry vegetable risotto.

Hugo Garcia's spirited tango of a restaurant, which stands out in a downtown full of fine dining rooms.

The plate: The cuisine of Argentina, with flavor-packed side trips, defines the cafe. Typical fare: lively tapas, savory empanadas, grilled steak with chimichurri, mixed grill. Restaurant-week menu not yet set.
Casa Rustica

Luce & Hawkins
