If you are eager to take your mom out to brunch or dinner for Mother’s Day this year, you’ll find plenty of Long Island restaurants ready to welcome you with open arms. Hunter the Restaurant (1053 Oyster Bay Rd., East Norwich): Appetizers here will include eggplant Napoleon and Greek salad. Mim’s Kitchen & Cocktails (235 Roslyn Rd., Roslyn Heights) and sister establishment Mill Creek Tavern (275 Bayville Ave., Bayville) will be serving a prix fixe brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. ($56.95 for adults, $18.95 for kids 10 and younger). Start with your choice of skillet meatball Parmesan, spicy ahi tuna martini, crispy chili pop shrimp and more. Mains include lobster ravioli, wild mushroom frittata, smoked salmon Benedict, and steak and eggs. Ben’s Kosher Deli (59 Old Country Road, Carle Place): Ben's has one dine-in (also available for takeout) special for Mother’s Day, a chicken Marsala dinner served with rice pilaf, sautéed spinach, and choice of soup or salad for $25.99. George Martin The Original (65 N. Park Ave, Rockville Centre): This eatery is celebrating Mother’s Day from 2 to 7 p.m. with a la carte specials including butternut squash ravioli with brown butter, sage, and Pecorino Romano ($14/$22); crispy panko-crusted mozzarella ($14); grilled cauliflower flatbread ($14); shrimp risotto ($30); and baby back ribs with housemade barbecue sauce and sweet potato fries ($30). Ruvo (63 Broadway, Greenlawn): Ruvo has two prix fixe options: A brunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. for $29.95 per person, which includes an appetizer (smoked salmon crostini; prosciutto with melon; cream of asparagus and smoked Gouda soup), brioche French toast, a vegetable omelet, or steak and eggs as an entree, and tiramisu or coconut passion fruit panna cotta for dessert. A more substantial prix fixe will be served from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feast on starters like strawberry and baby spinach salad or prosciutto flatbread with Gorgonzola. Spring rack of lamb, pan roasted salmon filet with corn risotto, or stuffed veal scallopini are among the mains. The Waterview at Port Jefferson Country Club (44 Fairway Dr., Port Jefferson): The Waterview serves a buffet brunch from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. On the menu: Made-to-order omelets, salads, antipasto and cheese platters, a raw bar, a carving station with strip steaks and turkey, and a selection of hot entrees like chicken Marsala, eggplant Parmigiana, and salmon with lemon caper beurre blanc.
